Length
1) Keep your resume to one or two pages.
2) Focus on QUALITY, not quantity.
Writing Style
1) Do no use the personal pronoun "I"
2) Use strong action words.
3) Be consistent in verb tense, structure and layout.
Visual Effect
1) Use larger than average margins.
2) Use underlining and italics sparingly--they do not scan well.
3) Use bullet points.
4) Never include a picture.
5) Do not put your resume in a binder.
Paper and Printing
1) Use good quality paper.
2) Use Ivory, White, Cream or Gray. Other colors do not scan, fax or copy well.
3) Do not make your resume look "trendy" or "different." Unless you are in the creative field, it will be looked at with a negative response.
